Program Support Volunteers

Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per week | Duration: Minimum 3 months

Assist with delivering coaching sessions, wellness seminars, and youth programs. Help facilitate workshops, provide one-on-one support, and create welcoming environments for participants.

Skills Needed: Good communication, empathy, reliability, willingness to learn

Training Provided: Comprehensive orientation, program-specific training, ongoing mentorship

Youth Mentors

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week | Duration: Minimum 6 months

Build meaningful relationships with rangatahi (young people), providing guidance, support, and positive role modeling. Help youth develop confidence, skills, and positive future aspirations.

Skills Needed: Patience, active listening, commitment to youth development

Training Provided: Youth mentoring certification, cultural competency training, safety protocols

Event Support Team

Time Commitment: Flexible, event-based | Duration: Ongoing

Help organize and run community events, cultural celebrations, health fairs, and workshops. Assist with setup, registration, activities, and cleanup.

Skills Needed: Organizational skills, teamwork, enthusiasm

Training Provided: Event-specific briefings, health and safety training

Administrative Volunteers

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per week | Duration: Minimum 3 months

Support office operations with tasks like data entry, phone reception, filing, newsletter preparation, and social media assistance.

Skills Needed: Computer literacy, attention to detail, professional communication

Training Provided: Office systems training, confidentiality protocols

Cultural Program Facilitators

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week | Duration: Minimum 6 months

Share cultural knowledge and skills through te reo Māori classes, traditional arts, cultural workshops, or storytelling sessions. Help preserve and celebrate cultural heritage.

Skills Needed: Cultural knowledge, teaching ability, passion for cultural preservation

Training Provided: Facilitation skills, program development support

Wellness Workshop Assistants

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week | Duration: Minimum 3 months

Support wellness seminars and health programs by assisting facilitators, preparing materials, and providing participant support.

Skills Needed: Interest in health and wellness, supportive nature

Training Provided: Wellness program orientation, first aid certification (optional)

Volunteer Requirements

Age Requirement

Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Youth volunteers (16-17) may be accepted with parental consent for specific roles.

Police Check

All volunteers working with vulnerable populations must complete a police vetting check (we'll guide you through this process).

Commitment

Reliable attendance and commitment to your chosen role's time requirements. We understand life happens—just communicate with us!

Do I need previous experience to volunteer?

No! We welcome volunteers of all experience levels. We provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role.

Can I volunteer if I don't speak te reo Māori?

Absolutely! While cultural knowledge is valued, it's not required. We provide cultural competency training and opportunities to learn about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori culture.

What if I can only volunteer occasionally?
